We'll try to find pubs or cafes on a bus route and welcome offers to car share. Any recommendations of local eateries serving delicious lunches would be gratefully received. Has anyone eaten at Betty Cottles since it changed hands?

We usually meet at 1pm but this could vary depending on numbers and seat availability at each venue.

In May we had another excellent lunch at the Union Hotel, Moretonhampstead. 13 members ate in a room that felt like a banqueting hall, from plates that looked like banqueting platters! We had been told that both the menu and the portions were large - they certainly were.

The landlady came and told us all about the pub. It probably dates from medieval times and was originally a hall house, though it has been used as an Inn and brew house since at least 1650.
